Stone’s Throw Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026

Stone’s Throw is provided by SoMo Hubs. This policy explains how the Stone’s Throw apps for iOS and Android access, use, store, and share information.

Information stored on your device

Your saved places, collections, notes, tags, favorites, preferences, and visit history are stored locally on your device. Stone’s Throw does not require an account. You control this information and can edit or delete it in the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes local information unless your device platform restores a backup.

Location

With your permission, Stone’s Throw accesses your device’s approximate or precise location while you use the app. Location is used to center the map, show distances, and identify saved places nearby. Stone’s Throw does not use location for advertising and does not operate background location tracking.

Maps and external navigation

The app uses Google Maps Platform to display maps and may open Google Maps for navigation. Google may process device, usage, and location information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Sharing places and collections

Sharing is optional and happens only when you choose it. A shared collection link uploads the selected collection name and selected places to Stone’s Throw’s sharing service. Depending on what you saved, a place can include its name, address, coordinates, website, notes, tags, favorite status, nearby messages, and schedule settings. Visit history and app preferences are excluded. Shared links can be opened by anyone who receives them, expire after seven days, and are then automatically deleted.

Purchases

Apple processes the iOS app purchase. On Android, Google Play processes the optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited places. Stone’s Throw reads the purchase status needed to provide or restore access, but does not receive or store your payment-card details.

Retention and deletion

Security

Stone’s Throw uses encrypted HTTPS connections when communicating with sharing, mapping, and purchase services. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

Stone’s Throw is not directed to children under 13, and SoMo Hubs does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
